“Timeless Treasures: A Journey Through American Clocks”

This exhibit presents a unique opportunity for guests to explore the historical significance of clocks and watches and the time they marked. Carefully researched and prepared history boards feature known area merchants who sold and serviced timepieces throughout the community’s existence.

Spoken History Series: Keeping Time: The Watchmakers & Jewelers of Marshfield

Don Schnitzler presents a fascinating look into the history of Marshfield's watchmakers and jewelers from the city's early days to the present. The presentation highlights the skilled artisans who not only sold fine timepieces and jewelry but also mastered the intricate craft of repair and maintenance.

Horse Power Carriage Exhibit and Blacksmithing Demonstrations

Walk through a bygone era when horse-drawn vehicles were a vital part of daily life.  Watch the craft of forging metal parts that were essential to maintaining these vehicles! Enjoy a $5 Hotdog or a $6 Brat lunch plate on the lawn!

Central Wisconsin State Fairgrounds

Historic Photo-boards at the Central Wisconsin State Fair

Look for the NWCHS in the John Lang Building at the fair where we will feature panels containing more than 250 photographs of local Marshfield area history. The display is a collaborative effort of the City of Marshfield Historic Preservation Commission, Marshfield Historic Preservation Association, and the North Wood County Historical Society. Supported by the Central Wisconsin Stare Fair and Marshfield History Project funds through the Marshfield Area Community Foundation.

NWCHS Members, Volunteers, & Friends Annual Potluck Picnic

There will be a short Members Meeting to consider proposed changes toe the by-laws made during our December 2024 annual meeting.

Bring a dish / dessert to pass and your own drinks. Plates, utensils, chairs, and water will be provided.
